How is the Bradford protein assay determined?
In this assay, Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) is used as the protein standard. Brilliant Blue G and the protein forms a complex, causing a spectral shift from brown to blue. Samples are measured at a wavelength of 595 nm and a linear curve of absorbance versus concentration of standards is obtained. Using this curve, the concentration of unknown protein samples can be determined.
