Are You Ready for the Food Safety Modernization Act?

Achieving Compliance for Section 204

With the introduction of the Food Traceability Rule in Section 204 of the Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA), the food industry is facing new requirements for traceability, data management, and hygienics. FSMA 204 will require food suppliers and manufacturers to document and maintain data related to the food sold to consumers throughout the entire lifecycle of the food supply chain. This includes where the food was harvested, transported, cooled, and stored, as well as who completed those actions. Under Section 204 of the FSMA, organizations must be able to produce this data within 24 hours of receiving a request from the FDA.
