Good Dropping Point Practice

Technical products such as ointments, synthetic and natural resins, edible fats, greases, waxes, fatty polymers, bitumens, and tars have no defined melting point. They soften as the temperature rises and gradually melt down over a relatively large melting interval. The determination of the dropping and softening point is one of the few methods of thermally characterizing these substances. As the determination of these values depends upon the measuring method used, thorough standardization is required.

This webinar provides theoretical background knowledge about accurate dropping and softening point determination and practical tips and hints for daily work.
