Color and Clarity of Anhydrous Lactose with UV Vis

Spectrophotometric Method at Fixed Wavelength as per US and European Pharmacopeia

Lactose samples that are clear in solution are suitable for pharmaceutical formulations. This application note provides a method for the determination of color and clarity of anhydrous lactose using METTLER TOLEDO's UV/VIS spectrophotometer.

How to Determine the Color and Clarity of Lactose Samples?

This document presents the established procedure for evaluating the color and clarity of a lactose solution in accordance with the USP and Ph.Eur standards. The method employs UV Vis spectroscopy at a fixed wavelength of 400 nm for identifying the contaminants and clarity of the lactose samples.
