Why does Ibuprofen API need to be analysed?
Due to its analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory action, ibuprofen is widely produced in the pharmaceutical industry. API (active pharmaceutical ingredient) levels of pharmacuetical products such as ibuprofen must be analysed to ensure sufficient quality and content.
In this application note, ibuprofen is identified for its compliance with standard, according to pharmacopoeia monographs, ensuring that ibuprofen API meets quality requirements. Ibuprofen API analysis can be performed using a UV Vis spectrophotometer to perform scans at two fixed wavelengths. Results obtained are calculated automatically and displayed on the terminal, allowing compliance with acceptance criteria as per Ph. Eur. 8.0 to be immediately assessed.
