Dynamic mechanical Analysis (DMA) is an excellent technique for measuring the transition temperatures and modulus of a range of materials.
Modulus = Measured Stiffness x Geometry factor
Stiffness = Force / Displacement amplitude
Geometry factor = f(Sample geometry and deformation mode)
For a DMA experiment, the following parameters must be defined:
- Deformation Mode
- Temperature range
- Heating rate
- Force or displacement amplitude
- Frequency or frequencies
- Sample geometry
Make use of the DMA wizard to set up an optimal experiment or acquire additional knowledge from our DMA experts.
