Webinar: Calorimetric and Modeling Techniques for Amidation Reactions

How to Make an Amidation Processes Greener and More Productive

Program oversigt

  • Calorimetry investigation of a chemical process
  • Kinetic modeling
  • In-silico simulation

Alessandro Barozza of PROCOS S.p.A. shares process optimization to make it greener and more productive for their production plants. Through the definition of a kinetic model using Dynochem, in-silico simulations were used to determine the best parameters for conducting the reaction.

Alessandro Barozza

Head of R&D Process Safety Lab - PROCOS S.p.A. (CBC Group)

Alessandro Barozza is the head of the process safety group of PROCOS S.p.A. and acts as an inter-functional reference for every HAZOP analysis during scale-up evaluation. He is the author of some papers about process optimization and process safety, as well as several patents on pharma active ingredients and processes. Since 1999, he has been one of the official speakers of the yearly “Reaction Calorimetry” Italian meeting, and he has contributed as a speaker to several different conferences and seminars. Besides calorimetry, he is actively involved in process development research as group leader, coordinating several researchers working from the very early stage of syntheses scouting to the industrialization of chemical processes, managing all phases of scale-up, evaluating economic and technical impacts of new processes, and operating inter-functional coordination between various departments of the company. He is also responsible for innovation for R&D laboratory automation and chemo-informatics, managing the acquisition of new equipment and software in order to increase the capabilities and efficiency of the R&D department, especially regarding synthesis automation, process intensification (continuous and semi-continuous reactors), electronic lab notebooks for a paperless lab, and QbD and DoE methodologies.
