Technical Documentation Library

Documentation for common vehicle scale, tank weighing and weighing automation projects

Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firms require a long list of documentation for each project. Large greenfield or brownfield jobs with weighing equipment like vehicle scales, tank scales or weighing automation can be especially complex and time consuming for research and documentation gathering.

This library features a sampling of the most requested items from EPCs globally, for some of our key industrial weighing product categories. Gain access to the library below.

Factory Acceptance Test

A Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) is a testing procedure that is carried out at the manufacturer's facility to ensure that a piece of equipment or system meets the specifications and requirements specified by the customer. The purpose of a FAT is to verify that the equipment or system is functioning correctly before it is shipped to the customer's site for final installation and commissioning. The test typically includes a thorough examination of the equipment, including functional testing and performance testing. The customer is typically present during the FAT to witness the testing and to provide final approval before the equipment is shipped.

Paint Specification

In terms of scales, a paint specification details the parameters of the paint applied to the final product. This includes paint color, composition, thickness, and any special application process requirements that could impact pain longevity. Operations will often have a paint specification form, along with a detailed paint quality testing procedure.

Wiring Diagrams

A wiring diagram is a detailed diagram or illustration that depicts the electrical connections and layout of an electrical system or circuit. It shows the components of the circuit as simplified shapes and the power and signal connections between them. Wiring diagrams are often used in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. In the case of scales, it would be utilized to show the connection of the load cell system and/or terminals or other electronic based peripherals.

Datasheets

A datasheet, also known as a data sheet or specification sheet, is a document that provides detailed information about a product, component, or device. It typically includes technical specifications, such as dimensions, electrical characteristics, performance parameters, and environmental requirements. Datasheets are commonly used in the electronics and manufacturing industries to provide information about the products being designed, manufactured, or used in a system. They are useful resources for engineers, technicians, and other professionals who need to understand the capabilities and limitations of a product.

Bid Specifications

A bid specification, also known as a request for bid (RFB) or invitation for bid (IFB), is a document that outlines the requirements and expectations for a project or product that a company or organization is looking to procure. It typically includes detailed information about the scope of work, deliverables, timelines, and any other relevant information that a potential vendor or contractor would need in order to submit a bid for the project. Bid specifications are commonly used in construction, manufacturing, and other industries where companies seek to contract out work to external vendors. These documents are important tools for ensuring that vendors have a clear understanding of the project requirements and can help to ensure that the final product or service meets the needs of the client.

Engineering Specifications

An engineering specification, also known as an engineering spec or technical specification, is a document that outlines the specific requirements and expectations for a product, component, or system. It typically includes detailed information about the design, materials, performance, and quality standards that the product or system must meet. Engineering specifications are commonly used in the engineering and manufacturing industries to ensure that a product or system is designed and produced to meet specific requirements and standards.

Welding Certificate

A welding certificate, also known as a welding qualification certificate, is a document that verifies that a welder has successfully completed a welding certification test and has met the required standards and qualifications. The certificate typically includes information such as the welder's name, the types and processes of welding that the welder is certified to perform, and the expiration date of the certificate. It is usually issued by the organization or governing body that administered the certification test, such as a welding trade organization, a welding school, or a government agency.

A welding certificate demonstrates that the welder has the necessary skills and qualifications to perform welding work safely and to the industry standards. It is an important document that is often required for employment in welding-related fields or for bidding on welding projects. It also serves as evidence of the welder's skills and qualifications for the employer, clients or other interested parties.
