Density, Relative Density and API Gravity

The application gives the method for automated compensation to the measured sample density different temperatures, different relative densities and different API gravity.

Background:

 Determination of the density, relative density or API gravity of liquid petroleum products are important quality indicators and are used in quantity calculations or to satisfy application, transportation, storage and regulatory requirements.

With compensated density measurement ,the sample can be analyzed no matter the geographic location or time of year. The measured density and temperature can automatically be compensated to:

1. Density at 15 °C

   Density at 60 °F

2. Relative density 15 °C/15 °C

   Relative density 60 °F /60 °F

3. API gravity at 15 °C

   API gravity at 60 °F
