This webinar focuses on safe process scale-up using a case study of nitroalkane chemistry by WeylChem.
A scalable and cost efficient synthetic route to diformylarylbenzene was investigated. It involved a double formylation step that relies on the use of 2-nitropropane as a primary reagent. Due to the inherent energetic nature of nitroalkanes, a process safety assessment was necessary. This Safe Scale-up webinar will demonstrate how process information gained from three RC1e experiments showed the experimental conditions required to match reaction exotherm with plant cooling capacity.
