TGA temperature calibration, using a Curie reference substance, is carried out in several yet simple steps, thanks to METTLER TOLEDO's unique thermal analysis STARe software.
In this video, you will learn how to:
- Program the calibration method
- Enter the sample weight
- Load the sample
- Place the magnet on the furnace cover
- Start the experiment
- and run automatic result evaluations
The principle behind Curie temperature calibration is that at a certain temperature, the Curie reference material loses its magnetic properties. This causes a sharp change in weight, which can be used as the calibration temperature. Up to 4 Curie standards can be used simultaneously across the wide temperature range offered by the TGA.
Setting up calibration routines in STARe software is highly accurate and saves time on evaluations and result assessments. More TA software information can be found on our website where you may also download and test the free TA evaluation software.
