Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) provides quantitative information on the change in mass of a sample as a function of time or temperature. TGA alone, however, cannot identify or characterize the gaseous products evolved during a measurement. The combination of TGA with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, gas chromatography–mass spectroscopy or micro gas chromatography–mass spectroscopy (respectively FTIR spectroscopy, MS, GC/MS; Micro GC(/MS) allows the nature of the gaseous reaction products formed in the TGA to be investigated online.
In this webinar, we will discuss the main applications of TGA-EGA systems and the advantages and limitations of each technique.
