Intelligent Sensor Management (ISM™) is METTLER TOLEDO's digital technology for process analytics. Measurements from ISM sensors are highly reliable and help manufacturing facilities maintain process consistency. One of ISM's major features is its advanced sensor diagnostic tools. Conducting maintenance based on these tools prevents batch disruption due to sensor maintenance and helps in achieving accurate and compliant sensor management.
This guide looks at what the ISM diagnostic tools are, the information they provide, and how they can be used to overcome your batch process sensor challenges.
ISM's diagnostic tools predict, to the day, when sensor calibration, maintenance, and replacement should be performed. The predictions are calculated using algorithms implemented in the sensors’ internal microchip. ISM's three predictive diagnostic tools are:
- Dynamic Lifetime Indicator (DLI): Predicts in how many days a sensor or replaceable part should be exchanged.
- Adaptive Calibration Timer (ACT): Predicts in how many days the next calibration should be performed.
- Time to Maintenance (TTM): Predicts in how many days sensor maintenance and cleaning will be required.
- These three tools ensure sensor measurements are accurate at all times and prevent sensor exchanges during an ongoing batch.
