Using checkweighers in explosion hazard zones requires extensive expertise in order to comply with numerous regulations. The European guideline ATEX 94/9/EG stipulates essential safety requirements for devices and protective systems which are used in explosion hazard zones. As such, devices are classified into categories which reflect their level of safety.
