InPro X1 from METTLER TOLEDO is a food-safe, cleaning tolerant, in-line pH sensor for the dairy industry.
In-line pH sensors provide reliable, continuous measurement of pH for a wide variety of industries. But the pH-sensitive glass membrane and glass shaft that comprises almost all pH sensors is unsuitable in food production due to the risk of breakage and hence glass contamination of products.
METTLER TOLEDO has solved this problem by replacing the glass shaft with food-grade PEEK polymer, and the pH-sensitive membrane with its proprietary X-Chip technology. X-Chip is a composite of different materials that allow the InPro X1 to measure pH accurately and continuously, without the possibility of product contamination from broken glass. In addition, the InPro X1 will tolerate repeated clean-in-place (CIP) cycles with almost no loss in measurement accuracy.
InPro X1 HLS has a hygienic design and meets all major food regulations including 3A, EHEDG and EC1935/2004. The sensor has passed the US military’s MIL-STD-810H drop test.
The accuracy of the InPro X1 HLS is at least as good as standard in-line sensors and lab sensors, allowing the InPro X1 to replace the need to measure grab samples in processes such as yogurt fermentation.
“The InPro X1 HLS is a game changer,” says Balz Aebli, Product Manager at METTLER TOLEDO. “For decades, the dairy industry’s been asking for a safe, in-line pH sensor that will withstand CIP. Now they have one.”
