In many ways, a truck scale or weighbridge is only as good as its foundation. This webinar is intended for first-time scale buyers in North America and will offer an overview of foundation types, site layout considerations, concrete requirements, and more. Learn how to set your scale on a solid footing as the first step to ensuring many years of trouble-free weighing for your operation.

The type of foundation required for your truck scale will depend on multiple variables. Those can include the soil bearing at your site, the type of scale you select, and the expected vehicular traffic across the scale.

Above-ground foundations can offer advantages for drainage, cleanout, and access to components for ongoing preventative maintenance and repairs. Pit-style foundations may be required at some sites with limited space for vehicle maneuvering or scale approaches.

Scale buyers should also be conscious of concrete specifications and work with their provider’s representative to ensure that contractors are mindful of requirements. A quality foundation will help ensure that scale is capable of consistent, accurate weighments.
